Zina Rohan talks to Nicola Barranger about her fourth novel The Small Book in which a WW1 Private is forced to be part of a firing squad executing a deserter from his own company.

When Ken Hoskins return from the war he cannot forget the incident. The experience shapes the rest of his life and the lives of his children and grandchildren. This is a book about truth and the urge to find out, but also about the importance of keeping silent.
