A man who went overboard from his small fishing boat Sunday morning near Long Beach is believed to have drowned. According to LBFD radio traffic the victim was a 55 year old Asian man. He was fishing with a 47 year old friend when for some unknown reason he went overboard. The passenger did not know how to operate the boat and was unable to reach the victim before he went under the water. Divers from LBFD; LB Police; Baywatch Cabrillo and LA County Sheriffs conducted an extensive search but were unable to locate his body. The search was called off around 5:30 PM but will resume Monday morning. Foul play is not suspected at this time in the accident.
