I remember the day my good friend John Sommers finished the first draft of this song.....he was young and falling in love with a beautiful girl and it was Aspen....and he caught that wonderful emotion beautifully.....

I love this song, too. I have heard about people putting on the LP when it first came out in '76 and playing this one over and over. My wife and I used to do this live as a duet, she sang backups and did trumpet in the horn parts. My God I miss her.........

i just discovered this song last year, and i pushed repeat on the cd player and listened to this song over and over for about a month.....bet you and your wife sounded amazing.

I have listened to John nearly all my life and without doubt In the grand way is the best and my all time fave song I got married to it playing as well as the words read before I got married I will never be tired of the song and I turn to it when I am a bit down. I wish I could thank him for this wonderfull song that is part of my life and will be until the day I die.

this is my favorite vocal that John did, i feel so much when i hear this, not to sound too cheesy. i am glad others recognize what a great song, thanks for posting it. if anyone knows if he ever did it live, would be nice to see or hear.
