I think you did a great job on this refill. I also agree, that if you want a truly excellent sounding acoustic guitar or any strumming you'd either have to go loops or the real deal. It's just so difficult to play a keyboard and make it sound/feel the way a guitar does with all the picking and strumming and other noises that happen when playing guitar.

Will this work with Reason 4?

@ThatGOONfromLA The raw NN19 patches - yes. And some of the Combinators. But to use everything you'll need Reason 5. That's because some patches use the new Kong FX devices and/or the new Combinator CV inputs introduced in R5.

I'm not keen on the filters, distortion, sequencing that goes on in every patch....

It's like sticking everything through Ohmboyz delay -> Simple Delay LPF / LFO preset..

Which is just a delay with feedback and a low pass filter constantly sweeping...

You can stick any synth sound / guitar font through Roger Linn Adrenalin Sync + Ohmboyz delay....and get similar results...

@TheKatsis That's an extreme simplification. There is so much more going on in the presets than delay with a LPF... And of course if you just want a more raw sound almost all presets have rotaries to dial back the effects.

Anyway, the selection of presets included is massively more varied than the video shows. But of course I have to balance showing presets with keeping a reasonable runtime for the demo vid.

@TheKatsis Well, Reason isn't widescreen so 720p doesn't make much sense for recording its video output. AFAIK audio quality is identical from 480p to 720p.

These demos would be a lot better in 720HD format....which YouTube allows....

It really does sound a hell of a lot better.

I have tried VirSyn's Acoustic Legends...which sounds really flat...it's as if they took the best guitars, recorded them with the best micrphones and mixing desks and somehow removed all the life from them!

Hypersonic 2 has one of the best Nylon guitars (Wizoo samples) I've heard in a plug-in....and Omnisphere has a few nice ones too...

fuck...the record patch u play here one time is in my ears really the greatest..but i dont own record 5.05.... my god..this is the sound i want...but i cant afford record..so sorry ;)
