Maslow and Optimal Development

In discussion with Andrea Rossouw, while working through my Psychology textbooks. In this video I discuss what is considered to be optimal human development and whether that considers the development of actual common sense to see what is best for ourselves, or if this refers to pre-programming based on fear of survival in an economic system which drives us to surviving as the mind based on ego and desire.

It doesn't require all your time and energy to pay for your basic needs. With a bit of effort and ingenuity a person can meet these needs quite easily in our society and then move onto higher needs. You, for instance, are doing that very thing by posting vids on You-tube. You have obviously fullfilled your basic biological and psychological needs to open the door to producing videos and publicly posting them. Had these basic needs not been fullfilled in you, would have no motive for making vids.

Yes you indicate well that you did not grasp the context of this video because of your desire to sound knowledgeable. People are to busy surviving and then justifying it as 'hierarchy needs' to see that we are accepting the abuse of billions of beings on this planet daily in the capitalistic system.

I am not being nasty - I am showing you want you are doing - you want to sound knowledgeable because this is where you have placed your self worth without having any practical common sense insight into how reality really functions and how and why we allow suffering to exist in this world in the name of self interest - which is what the context of my video was about - to see beyond the veil of bulshit that we have fed ourselves where we justify suffering.

True, not quite the best definition of self-actualization when you realize only your money flow and not care about other living beings on this world equally.
