Laurel Falls waterfall on Laurel Fork near Hampton Tennessee. Located along the Appalachian Trail south of Watauga Lake in a spectacular gorge, it is a popular local hike. See more at cartercounty.info. This was recorded during a time of drought so the flow is much less than normal..

    I was 17 years old when I first hiked that section of the AT. That was back in 1973. I've often thought of those falls. They look exactly like I had remembered them. My brother and I had hiked about 50 miles from the North when he hurt his back. We had to bail out at Hampton, TN. Thanks again

  • Glad you like it. I live a couple miles from Hampton. This video was from a very dry 2007 and not quite as much water as some times. It's still pretty loud. Always worth the walk.

  • excellent shot. I have one almost identical during that dry spell. I live just beside the trail near the trail head on the highway.
