Metropolitan Police 1950 to 1960s
In the film are:
Humber Super Snipe and Truimph Twin 500cc M/Cycles. The Humbers were eventually dropped because chaps didn't like driving them. The special equipment was thrown in the back. Later vehicles were made especially mainly Range Rovers. The ordinary Traffic Cars were mainly Rovers at the time.

  • OMG - have driven Humbers for years. They would be so useless in a car chase

  • @Minkyp64

Hi My Dad is driving the front car he is 84 now !!

  • The skid scenes aren't very dramatic are they? I imagine now they would have a graphic image of a child being mowed down.

  • Try going round in a 1950's car a ton and half of car on radial tyres very difficult.

  • Gotta be Hendon driving school NW9 I believe.

  • Yes in the 1960's

  • @AlistairBBBB - cool. Say hi to him from Australia where we have a 1946 Super Snipe, a 1968 Super Snipe and a 1950 Bentley in the garage. My hubby and I met through the Humber car club here in Australia. (However, these days I drive a very nice 407 Peugeot). My Dad has a 1963 Humber Sceptre also. There aren't many left on the road these days. Certainly didn't see any when we were in England last year.

    Regards

    Julie Pierce

first time I took my Morris oxford round a large roundabout at my usual speed

    forgot to allow for crossplys

I think the other drivers around me were a little worried

    I know I was

  • Yes that is right in the 1960's
