  • You are the reason I never forget my helmet and will always spend the extra 2 minutes to run into the barn to grab mine (I actually own 3 now). Your courage is such an inspiration to so many people! I wish you the best, and just remember that the whole dressage community is so proud of you!

  • Courtney, thank you so much for your video. I'm a hunter jumper trainer & nothing angers me more than to see a trainer jumping without a helmet. We are suppose to educate. When customers complain about helmet prices I always ask them how important is their brain or their childs brain. That always puts things in purspective for them. Take the time to get a helmet that fits well and you won't ever feel like you have to take it off. It can be 100 degrees and I am comfortable with mine on.

  • Thank you so much! I got dumped off my horse *with* a helmet on, and received a mild concussion. I'm just so grateful to have worn a helmet...if not, it would have been a lot worse. Sending you energy for speedy healing...you are well on the way! Jackie

  • Courtney Thank you for sharing your story!

  • I am also a fortunate head injury survivor. A fall from a horse on a frozen gravel road left me with a skull fracture and subdural hematoma. I am now a Hospice Nurse and take care of others who die from brain bleeds. Falls from 3 feet can kill you. I now wear a helmet every ride every time. I realize that horseback activities are inherently dangerous. Life itself is risky but living without joy is a limited existence. My rehabilitation included riding. It is one of the reasons I recovered

  • i am going to share this with all my riding buddies and share the link at my next 4-h trail safety clinic.

  • Her voice has changed a lot! god bless her

  • I will never be guilty of not wearing a helmet again. I NEVER let my daughters ride without a helmet. One gives me a hard time about why I sometimes don't. I will not be a hypocrite for one more ride. Thank you Courtney for your words, example, and courage.

  • SO MANY PEOPLE ARE INFLUENCED BY THIS TRAGIC ACCIDENT. THREE CHEERS FOR COURTNEY FOR TURNING SOMETHING TRAGIC INTO SOMETHING THAT WILL LITERALLY SAVE LIVES.

  • Four weeks ago I got into an accident and fell under the horse. I broke five bones in my face and had surgery two weeks ago. I am lucky I wore a helmet because when I fell, my horse had kicked my head too. Without it I would have died. What happened to Courtney is an eye opener and thanks to her, people are making life saving decisions. What she is doing is noble and I thank her.

  • @darkbluetennesee her brain injury

  • what happened to her voice not trying to be rude im just wondering
