  • Thumbs up if people always ask you "can you play Amelie?" when you just played a very difficult Liszt piece

  • Should I try to learn this song? Challenge accepted.

  • I can play a lot of Chopin's pieces but this song is a real bitch for some reason.

  • please check out my cousins piano cover!!

  • BRAVO !!!! Well done !!! How did you do to learn this piece ? It is difficult because it is speedy and also fingers must be very far from each other. I am French (excuse my poor English please (i hope you understand what i mean...) Thanks anyway you play very well. I would like to be able to do it like you...

I will tell you that the only reason I've said what I've said from the start was because this piece of music used to be as dear to me as it is to the very people that have replied to my comments (or maybe even more dear), but now it feels like child's play. I'm just surprised at how much my taste has changed over the past three years.

I didn't know it was minimalist but you do make a fine point in your last sentence. Regardless, I still wouldn't find myself coming back to this video to listen to the music (nor can I tip my hat to the ongoing repetition the composer used).

It sounds to me like you're expecting some grand amount of development and progression is what is essentially a minimalist piece. I'm guessing you're also not a fan of Glass? These composers set out to be repetitive intentionally. I see them as representing a single mood. You're supposed to be left feeling the same as you did when the piece began as it did when it ends, yet you're using this as grounds for criticism. It's like complaining that a nocturne is too tranquil.

  • @icepirouette

Yea I know that it works well as background music to that video but by itself it's not that great.
