Who cares that the Soviets won 4 games to 1 with 3 ties. I found the quality of hockey in this series, overall, to be better than that of the 1972 series. The WHA often gets dumped on, but I enjoyed the 1974 series. Hull was great in this one and was the highest goal scorer on either side! The Soviets said Cheevers was the best pro goalie they ever faced and the performances of the so-called "over-the-hill" Canadians led to Soviet stars being allowed to play past age 30 in the future.

jesus people... this was hardly Canada's best. they were the best of the WHA at the time. Howe was what... pushing 50? Hull & Mahovolich were hardly in their prime.

@cliffbowls15 In 72 Canada did not tie in game 8 if it was a tie soviets would win since they scored the most goals, thats how they decide the winner but with less then a minuit left henderson scored the imortal goal.
