I don't know what happened, but my mouth and the words aren't lining up now....

This is my version Benny and the Jet by Elton John sung through Autotune. Again with a Lexicon Omega, recorded on Cubase LE, mic is a Marshall MXL 2006 condensor. This time I used a slideshow of the kids during the instrumental portions. The music is a karaoke version downloaded here on YouTube. Enjoy

  • i have mxl 2001 and i have problem with is cuz it picking up the room noise i dont knw if from the mic or the interface (fast track m-audio

    plz help

  • That's not a problem. That's how good that mic is. This is why studios have soundproof booths for singing in, so there is no ambient noise to pick up. I have to turn off everything in the room when I use mine and listed to the music through the headphones.

  • Question. How did you connect the MXL USB microphone into the Lexicon Omega? Or is the microphone plugged directly into the computer?

  • The MXL is not a USB Mic. It's a balanced XLR mic with phantom popwer and plugs directly into the Omega. I wouldn't use a USB mic for singing.

  • Dude you sound like freakin T-Pain. XD

But seriously, I think vocoding is a cheap way out of not singing. You should at least try to sing for real. But I do have to say that Vocoding sounds kinda cool on this song

  • I have a few songs of my own that are originals that don't use Autotune at all. The whole idea I've been playing in all the videos I have posted was to get the T-Pain sound on non hip hop songs, just to have fun with it.

I'll have my own songs posted when the copyrights all go through.
