Despite losing two days to a sandstorm the weather today was less harsh and all teams got a good few hours circuit time in. Was a bit hazy but temperatures weren't too bad.

Great to see all three cars out on track and to get a good look at these new 2009 chassis. Deafening as usual but great fun too. Looking forward to a great season. Hope Honda make it in some shape or form!! Roll on April 26th!!

  • This is so true. You have no idea how loud this was! Seriously, my ears were nearly bleeding when I arrived in the grandstand and they were ringing for the whole of the next day. Absolutely AWESOME sound!! Bring it on!

  • Beeste, thanks so much for the video! This is the first video on youtube that actually captures what the F1 engine REALLY sounds like in person, those first 35 seconds of your video. From the noise funneling out of the garage, to the shriek of the gear change at 21 seconds, and then of course when Felipe takes off outta the pit lane at 30 seconds and guns it. Goosebumps like crazy. No other video like this one, thank you!

  • Hey John thanks so much for your appreciative comments!

  • Hey this is the 1st i've heard of this. I wonder if someone can shed some light on this?

  • Cool! I can't wait either. I've got my tickets for the 26th April! I'l grab some more video and post it up here as soon as I am able! :)

  • Lead singer of the pussycat dolls is Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend

  • Thats so awsome. I want one :(

  • i'm going this year lil wayne pussycat dolls and hannah montana is goin ;)

  • I hope i can get tickets for this year's f1 lol

  • f1 is dead to many regulations and restrictions. montoya said that the cars should be able to go as fast as they can because at the end of the day the druver depends on how fast it is. i persaonally think they should of stuck with the v10 3.0 engine its more exotic than a v8 which is standard in the states. also no limiting the engine which is the soul of the car. if you wanna create overtaking ban the points system.

  • It always is lounder than on TV, TV is managed/edited sound. A1 GP also suprised me, the amount of noise on over-run was immense, and would hurt you without ear defenders/plugs.

You should so see it to belive it.

  • No mufflers, 1 big openairintake, 2 huge radiators, extremely high RPM, around 18.000 this year where a normal car hits 6000, and thats how you get noise.

  • Yes, because this is filmed from a grandstand, so the sound reflects on the wall, the seats and the roof and thats why you hear the engines so loud, on TV the camera stands alongside the track and the sound can escape into the air. If you ever have been to a race you might have experienced that ;)
