...for sure this is my trollling account, but I'm a fan of the police and, believe it or not, Matisyahu, but this performance in particular is rather poor: he is simply covering a song that was ALREADY a hybrid when it was made 30 years ago.
Besides, consider what you are suggesting: We should only watch things we like? Only make positive comments?

...consider that the police ALREADY merged styles when they made this song originally: it ALREADY was reggae tinged. Understand that I'm not really putting Matisyahu down because I do think he is a good songwriter, but this is not his song and I can't believe that anyone old enough to remember when the original came thinks this is good.

unique style? huh? he's doing dancehall and reggai impressions with some rather poor beatboxing. If he wasnt in his jewish garb hed be laughed at. This is nothing but a gimmick.

...this just sucks bad. what's the point? sounds like nothing more than a cover of the original with nothing new other than a gimmicky jewish angle and a poor elephant man style rap in the middle and some rather lackluster beatboxing. nothing but gimmicks.
