Peter Trainer was born with severe genetic malfunctions in his legs. He was one and half when he had his first amputation-- the lower leg and foot of his right leg, and received a prosthesis. By the time he was six, he chose to have the other leg amputated , too. Trainer made the adjustment to his new legs quickly.

A resident of Botetourt County for five years, he is the fourth of five children. The family lives in extreme western Botetourt County near the Roanoke County line. His oldest sister is also a runner so he had some inspiration. And run he does! He is on the Lord Botetourt High School indoor and the spring track team, too. he participates in the 100, 200, 400 and 400 relay.
