@firsh As a homeowner, it's prudent to add shut-off valves to water areas. Hire a REAL PLUMBER, not a JACK-LEG PLUMBER! (no disrespect intended toward any plumber named Jack intended). The shut-off valves should allow water shut-off to the dishwasher, kitchen sink, & water tubing for fridge's ice & ice-water thru the door in case of leaks. Each bathroom/half-bath (we've got 2 bathrooms) should have shut-off values on toilets, sinks, & shower/tub areas. Then there's no fear of water damage.
These are good with the new houses where you can turn off the water at the back. With the fancy power circiut fuse box etc... We bought a dishwasher and replacing the sink and its cabinet and adding the machine brings up problems. The water can only be turned off globally, for the entire house. We need to drain the pipes at the level of the kitchen at least. The waste water pipe doesn't have a screw and hangs out of the wall for 4", leaving an ugly gap behind the dishwasher....
@anamerebephens thats what the sink clamps are for, so they will set the sink down closer to the countertop. if it is a issue about an unlevel countertop, you can apply a bead of silicon to the sides to waterproof it and wipe away any excess
@Jorrellds Depends on what all you're replacing and with what quality, A sink basin can cost as little as $60 up to over $1,000. Faucet's are similar. Piping is pretty cheap; about $20-$50 should cover you depending on how many drains are in the sink. A typical replacement including sink, faucet and piping will run you $400-$750.
This gives great advice for changing a kitchen sink.

What if the sink sides don't sit flush on the counter tops?
