How pompous of this man to say that Crossan doesn't believe in what Crossan says he believes. Crossan is amazing....this man, Craig, is toxic! Is his entire ministry to knock down others...I don't have time to find out...this is enough of him for me. Dogma idolatry, just like the pharisees.

Another thing Crossan can't answer is why Paul(formerly a very promising young pharisee named Saul) who had been constantly arresting Christians and sending them to trial & execution would have such a major & radical change, a complete about-face from persecuting the believers in Jesus to becoming the most die-hard and successful evangelist FOR Jesus.

Paul had never even met Jesus during His physical time on earth. What caused that change? Acts 9.

Would disciples who simply believed that Jesus was still with them in spirit in a round about way, but His body remained dead be motivated enough to repeatedly say that He has risen from the dead to the point of execution themselves?

That is what Crossan doesn't have a good answer for.

I think what dcrout92 meant was that people don't die for what they know is a lie, hence the disciples witnessed the resurrection.
