This is a series of scenes depicting the Agawa Canyon on Canadian National Railway's Algoma Central division. The first scene shows the Agawa Canyon scenic overlook and the Camp Car as a northbound freight train rolls by. The second scene is from inside the Camp Car itself as another freight passes. Southbound passenger train No. 2 departs from the Canyon passenger station. Finally a southbound Tour Train crosses over the big trestle at Montreal Falls.

The Agawa Canyon is featured on the television series "Trackside". More info about the series at www.trainweb.org/tracksideonline

  • My family and I road the Algoma Central on a motor car ride in '92 when I was in the second grade! I remember climbing the hundreds of steps at Agawa and taking several photos! I also remember videoing going over the Montreal Falls trestle! You know why the big blue barrels are all along the trestle?

  • @LinemanRailfain: The blue barrels on the Montreal Falls trestle are for catching rain water. These can then be used if there is ever a fire on the trestle or the nearby vicinity.

  • Nice shots. I especially liked the trestle shot!

  • Thanks. We had to go over some pretty rough terrain to get there. A very remote location.

  • We lived at Mile 92 (train tressel in the early 1960) My grandfather had a tourist camp at this site known as Trail's Ends prior to the power dam being built. This train was a daily occurence in our lives, and as kids we would wave to the people on the train. I have done the trip to Hearst with my sister in-law (who was working on the train) and have ridden in the engine while crossing the tressel. Life on the ACR is simply amazing.... flagging down the Hearst train to give crew a cake!

  • That's an awesome model train at 0:45. The lighting is very realistic.
