...the guys from Operation Ivy and lookout records to me and my friend's band to a garage party to see a "new" band that had just started playing shows that everybody loved (we were in a band that was playing Gilman St. Warehouse)...the band was Green Day....and later than night I stood next to Jello Biafra watching OPIV at Gilman....I even asked him if he'd sign them....lol....he said, "I wish!"

unfortunatly .. i live in belgium a place where nothing great happens in the punkscene

you can't call it a punkscene actually .. because every formed "punkband' that i knew were some poppy shitty blink182 like bands ..

Als ge dit zegt dan denk ik dat ge gewoon niet veel van de punkrock scene in België weet.

Allemaal Blink 182 achtige bands? Komaan ...

Oke er zijn wat pop-punk bands zoals The Octopussy's, F.O.D., The Rocket enzo maar er zijn genoeg andere bands als Face The Fax, Generation 84, Break Of Day, The Priceduifkes, Homer, Gino's Eyeball, Second Base, ...die echt wel de moeite zijn.

Ieder land heeft een goeie "underground" punkscene maar je moet ze gewoon leren kennen

@neracroft Daar geef ik u ook helemaal gelijk in , ik heb genoeg van die bands gezien in de hekkel&jekkel , de hel , sodom in tongeren ... en dat is gewoon nog altijd zoals het hoort

en dat zijn ook wel gewoon echt goeie poppunk bands , net zoals the queers of screeching weasel

maar ik had het trouwens ook over de bands van kameraden die punk wilde maken en die gewoon de hele boel verkrachten door met halve emo zeik te komen

Ja rond Aarschot en Leuven hebde kickass records en funtime records en bands als break of day, generation 84, homer, face the fax,... ook allemaal van hier dus ik woon op de goei plaats vind ik.

En als ge weet da hier dan het afgelopen jaar ook nog bands hebben gespeelt als MxPx, Authority Zero, Death By Stereo, Mute, Hot Water Music, The Swellers, The Casualties, No Fun At All,... allemaal in deze regio dus qua internationale bands is het hier ook wel ok

ja ik weet wel dat in mijn "stamcafe" vroeger toen ik nog te klein was begin jaren 90 ergens nofx der heeft opgetreden en een paar jaar terug a wilhelm scream , the queers , gino's eyeball authority zero en natuurlijk bands als octopussy's , generation 84 en zulke bands

maar hier is het helaas wat aan het uitsterven , alleen als er goeie opterdens zijn, komen der toch wel mensen van best ver om het te zien

most of all those US pop/rock "punk" bands (they are not punk in my eyes!) talked about $ and major label popularity. tour support ect! typical! yup did they get around to talking about CRASS! well cause i couldn't watch this non-sense. the UK bands and one or two US bands matter to me. let these middle class POP PUNK rockers sink to the bottom of the ocean along with the whale shit!
