Risen - Long mage sample gameplay

A longer clip of "Risen", the latest RPG from Piranha Bytes. Showing some magic combat and also some of the dialog. The voice acting is.. sometimes cringe-worthy. Check out 1:52 where the voice actor calls out "To arms! To arms!" in the same tone of voice as if he's ordering a super-sized Big Mac meal at the drive-thru. Then again, at 3:50, the voice actor and the dialog for the main character are actually kind of funny!

[[ EDIT: The video quality of this one is really kinda awful, to be honest. The source video I converted and uploaded looks fine but YouTube seems to have compressed this a lot more noticeably than any of my other test videos so far. The uploaded file was a 1280x720 H.264 .AVI with 192kbps, 44KHz, stereo AC-3 audio approximately 5262kpbs. Filesize was about 207MB for 5:23. So, yeah, obviously that's going to be too high for streaming, even for YouTubeHD I suppose. ]]

Correct, that is 1 of the many conversations. If you don't like this kind of game, fine. If you do, or you are a fan of Gothic, this is defiantly a game worth getting!

I liked Gothic 2 a lot more only because it had a lot of spells.... you could turn into various of animals and beasts, had a lot of AoE and missile spells, not to mention summoning spells....

I became mage in Risen and never used any spell except levitation, telekinesis and berserker now and then...

@Voodooprophet1213 The mage has 3 different kind of magic: fire , frost and arcane (?). You can level up each one to power them up(getting AoE, faster cast, more dmg) .

Plus you have runes , those can be used that need to be found and can't be level up .
