The SC 22 does have a keel, it's refered to as a swing keel. A centerboard/daggerboard does not have the weight to it to be considered a keel. The keel on the SC 22 is 650lbs though it does swing up, the weight of it being used for stability classifies it as a keel.

not a keel a centerboard keels don't move they are fixed centerboards rotate downward :-) you have any updates on your progress?
