TBM Avenger Grumman

This plane has some history. And during WW2 and certainly during its performance at Midway, this thing really did prove itself as an outstanding Torpedo bomber.

But one of the really interesting things that you wont get from the video and I didn't realize until I saw it. Is that when this thing is flying toward you its actually pretty quite. I could completely imagine being on a noisy ship just doing my job and this thing sneaking up on me. It really was that quite. I'm sure that an entire squadron would be much louder but I was very surprised how quite this thing was, at least until it passes, then it LOUD of course.
