Great day and Deacon Blue was the right band to close it out, with so many great soings at the time. I preferred Big Country though as it was the only time I ever got to see Stuart Adamson and co.
I watched this on TV the day it happened and I remember it being very political. Ricky Ross was preaching to the audience on housing, politics, homeless-ness, how the Scots had "been sold-out by Labour down in Westminster", and many other things. He was interviewed backstage and said similar things to the interviewer. I remember it like it was a few months ago. It was a good gig though.
@SuperCarGenius Yeh mate, there was a quarter of a million people there in their home town in the biggest free concert in Glasgow's history because we were European City of Culture 1990. I was there and will never forget it, Hopefully. I can forgive the slips.
Love this band but you can tell they've not played live for while, the tempo is way up on what it should be, this is excitement! Something that never wears off when playing live but certainly diminished which in turn reduces tempo to acceptable rates!.
Thanks for this. A great day. Deacon Blue better than the first time i saw them at Reading when they walked off stage after being pelted with bottles!
