This video was taken in Dec, 2008.

Part of the video content is demonstration of Wing Chun skills. It should be note that Wing Chun is not JKD, although it is a primary component of Bruce Lee's early martial arts system, it is not the case in the later time.

Ted Wong said:" Wing Chun was no longer a part of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do at this point in Bruce Lee's life (1969-73)."

What's more, training level of our jeet kune do training group is gradually improving, please pay attention to us!

  • they're showing that Wing Chun is the nucleus of their JKD... that's why you're seeing Wing Chun forms/etc. mixed-in this demo with JKD drills/strikes/kicks/etc. It's a very good demo video. Just like Dan Inosanto's academy has Phillipino arts as its nucleus... or Larry Hartsell's school (RIP) has grappling as its nucleus...

  • This is partly Wing Chun, part JKD. Many of Bruce's ideas are based off of wing chun concepts.

  • it has became to people so easy to hurt them but not to hurt them is very hard to do take up aikido to see the real art of self defence not fighting as you learn to defend yourself from fighting not to become fighting dont waste your time

  • @1NX9 I realized I said Sharon instead of Shannon. Hahaha, terrible.

  • @1NX9 Here. Im sick and tired of explaining to people who never learned under an authentic JKD instructor. Its the Way of the Intercepting Fist. Not the Way of Doing and Mixing Whatever You Want. It a style of no style. Not a style of multiple styles. Its a philosophy and science to set you on the path of understanding the ultimate expression of the human body. How it works, why it works, and can I make it better? Not embracing MA because its popular. Here's Shannon Lee. watch?v=s8CSaH5bqDI

  • @simonmafy "Sharon Lee stated its "Jeet Kune Do is not MMA" even though she tried to sugar coat it"

And where & when did she exactly said that?

  • @IveGotTheNuts I agree JKD was a concept and not a set style. Bruces schools were meant to be a place where different styles came together and learned things from each other and in doing so, strived to elevate themselves to a level where style was irrelivant. A place to share and expand their knowledge collectively, unfortunately some of his students preferred to just try and imitate what he was doing and in doing so missed the whole point of what he was trying to teach them...

  • @IveGotTheNuts You're practically saying all of Bruce's students and his daughter don't understand it. LoL

  • @simonma HERES A VERY FAMOUS QUOTE FROM bruces mouth. I hope to free my followers from clinging to styles, patterns, or molds. Remember that Jeet Kune Do is merely a name used, a mirror in which to see "ourselves". . . Jeet Kune Do is not an organized institution that one can be a member of. Either you understand or you don't, and that is that.

  • @IveGotTheNuts LoL, Just google "Jeet Kune Do is a Science by John Little" . Its a pdf file, and its an article, not a book. It was to debunk the myth fabricated by the mma world. Besides, why is it that you mma fanboys get so insulted. You got one instructor under Dan Inosanto telling you, and you got a student of the James Yimm Lee line telling you, and you got other people telling you. Heck, even Sharon Lee stated its "Jeet Kune Do is not MMA" even though she tried to sugar coat it.

  • @simonmafy Wrong wrong wrong. As ive read all of bRUCES BOOKS . hE CLEARLY STATES THAT A PERSON MAY USE what he likes in any practice. He clearly states that what may work for one person may not work for another. JKD is a philosophy more than anything. And you obviously have never read any of Bruce literature. Bruce clearly states that one may use any form he wishes to and not be restricted like tradition martiAL ARTS. yOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT jkd AS YOU HAVE NEVER READ ANY OF HIS BOOKS.

  • @IveGotTheNuts Oh ya, one more thing to add. Bruce Lee "maybe" the father of UFC but not MMA. People have been mixing styles together long before Bruce was born. Take Krav Maga for example or Sambo, or various gung fu. In the end, "Unless there are human beings with three arms and four legs, unless, unless we have another group of beings on the earth that are structurally different from us, there can be no different form of fighting. Cuz we have two arms and two legs." - Bruce Lee
