LaSalle Countys Emergency Operations Center is another step closer to becoming a reality. Thats after the LaSalle County Board of Supervisors unanimously accepts a bid to construct the single-story structure adjacent to the county governmental center at their Thursday afternoon meeting. Under the accepted bid, Vissering Construction of Streator will erect the building for $1,550,200. In accepting the bid, the board signed off on three alternate bids-including the addition of a brick exterior and smoke detection system throughout the building. It also calls for selective removal or replacement of existing concrete paving. That said, the federal government is putting about a million dollars into the project by way of a FEMA grant.
