DANIEL JOHNSTON MEETS PISSPOT

This is from a couple years ago at the Bug Jar. Daniel performed a 30 minute set that was one of the most heart-rending performances that I have ever seen. Here's a few selections from the show...

I guess the point about music really is whether or not it moves you and inspires you; if DJ's music doesn't do that for you, forget about it and go listen to something else. I personally find his recordings VERY intense and moving - especially because of their sound. The way he performs his songs is just as important as the songs themselves, I think. Take for example "Hi, how are you", to me it's one of the most incedible records ever. What's the point about arguing if he is a genius or not.

but this DJ dude ROCKS in the Netherlands by golly. Concert hall organizers send big guaranteed cash and plane tickets to DJ and his Bro/Manager.
