Anrak the Foul attempt

Obsidian Order and Testament from the Harrow server in Rift take on Anrak the foul in the new 10 man instance: the Gilded Prophecy, on day 1 of RIft patch 1.2. Even though we failed (repeatedly) we accomplished what we came there for and that is to learn the basic fight mechanics. :)

Around 80% he begins to spawn adds 3 i believe,. we(Black Sunshine Kelpmere) haven't got passed the adds yet.

With the adds. For this fight you should have 2 tanks. It makes it easier to deal with the stacking debuff (on test we were swapping out every 4 stacks). When the adds spawn the offtank can pick up the adds and them the dps can aoe them down. This makes it alot easier to deal with. When he tail swipes the tank and any melee should run underneath him and behind, to avoid the massive damage attack. Then when the attack is done you can flip him back. Fight is all positioning.

@darkguardian50 i was thinking 1-2 decicated ranged aoe dps to switch and take them out. They have low health?

@darkguardian50 No one is mentioning the eye beam though, You can't LOS it, out healing it is a pain in the ass and very difficult to do, what do you do about that? It's 3/4 of a second after the raid message, and then you die pretty quick, even if spread out, you still probably lose him.

The boss needs to be tanked by 2 tanks, it needs to be swapped after 3-4 stacks on the tank or you will wipe. Every 25%ish spawns add. after 7 min the boss enrages so it is a dps fight. Make sure when the boss is tail swiping that it does not face the raid or you will wipe.
