A selection from Ward's wonderfully intriguing and visually stunning first film. Not one person (on youtube) has ever uploaded anything from this scarcely seen gem on so I decided to.

  • Thanks so much. What a movie! Ever since seeing Vigil, twenty years ago, it has haunted me - strange thing: I don't rememeber why?

  • Maybe the best film I ever seen, or at least my favorite one. What a quality you have! Is that a piece from the original DVD? Is there any subtitle for that? Unfortunatelly its really a hard to find in Europe. I have this only in VHS. Great movie, beautiful pictures, perfect play. Could you please post some more?

  • Wow awesome thankyou so much for putting this up, i'm searching everywhere for this film trying to find a copy. It appears to be such a strong standout in NZ FIlm History

  • I don't think it was his first film, he did one called "In Spring One Plants Alone" and the recent one that just came out was supposed to be a sequel, or revisiting of that.

  • What an extraordinary film!
