  • I love it! a shame it's sooo short and its english subtitles are not accurate. the irony of the words game is as good as the irony in the music! beautiful, I have this dvd from Deutche Grammophon - Archiv Produktion - and it says "filmed at the Théâtre du Chatelêt, Paris" good posting!

  • I love this duet; it's by far the funniest in the whole opera. It's a sly but very obvious exchange of insults btwn Marcelina & Susana. It is still a beautiful sounding duet but a good pair of singers could make this hilarious, though the real comic relief here would be a very well-characterized Marcelina. Susana's real moment here is bringing up Marcelina's "age"..the way she delivers that is hilarious

  • Sorry but Alison has a awful accent or voice ( 0:12, 0:42…) and exagerating words (amoRE :0:50)

  • hahahahaha, it's over over 100 years when Mozart wrote this and it still makes people cry from laughter!!!

  • To me, Alison Hagley will always "own" the role of Susanna- I have both versions of her in "Figaro".. love them both!

  • rhja I think you are right I have this version too. It's filmed in the Théâtre du Châtelet.

  • Far and away my favourite version of Le Nozze di Figaro, but I wonder about the bit that says it was filmed in Queen Elizabeth Hall; it's exactly the same - note for note and glance for glance - as the version I have, which was filmed in the Théâtre du Châtelet.
