After receiving several requests for this I have made 2 videos that I hope will help you learn "Six White Horses". This video covers the rhythm pattern and we talk more about dynamics.

  • Very informative! I love that Lester Flatt style, it's a shame more people don't use it and want to learn it. Thank you for posting this.

  • @pretourious I agree that it's a shame the style is not more popular, but I have hopes that it's popularity will increase in the coming years!

  • GREAT Lesson !!!! Thank you for sharing.

Cool kick-off and nice to hear the muted notes with your left hand. The Dynamic Range of your playing really comes across and you have a GREAT Voice ... I'm lookin' forward to getting a CD of your tradational music and singing.

One small point, try not to mix sharps and flats when you talk about basic chords. B7 has a D# not an Eb in it's structure.

I'm tryin' to learn a little Bluegrass Guotar so I'm grateful for you wonderful videos.

  • Thanks David. I really appreciate your feedback and am flattered by your praise. You're exactly right about mixing sharps and flats. I shot that video in a hurry and wasn't really considering that at the time. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • @Studio607Productions I think it will become more popular too, its a very unique style that works in many different styles of music. Dynamics are another thing that most acoustic guitar players never learn or just over look, I was n fact looking for info on dynamics when I found your video, its something Ive been working on for about a year now. Also, it looks like your soundhole is enlarged? This is something I've had done to all of my guitars and really seems to make a difference on high notes

  • Nice stuff. Keep on posting!

  • Left - Right ... Up - Down ... Sharp - Flat .. it doesn't matter because this is GREAT music and wonderful teaching !!!

I can't wait to get a copy of your CD so I can Sing Along and add some Painful Harmony.

    Thank you for sharing !

    David

  • Wow - that's great. Sounds very much like Norman Blake's version. Very nice!
