I am standing along the main road where the old state capital of montana and a old gold town called " Bannack " grew and eventually died. Though it had various different names, today it is known as Bannack where it is preserved by the state of Montana. It is located southwest of Dillon, Montana taking route 278 where you will pass a sign telling you where to turn. Don't expect a big sign or a freeway, yet it is paved. You can go to montana state parks and find more information. Nice campgrounds and you will learn abit of history and maybe if you remember to bring a pan along, they may have a pile for you to pan from.
@CPhDavis
