hi im from germany , i have a rmz 450 k6 too and the bike sounds same than yours and the comic sound came from the valves.. we set them and now the comic noise is away .. (sorry for my english :D)

It was more a bottom end rebuild, cost me around 1300 USD, anyway the bike runs great now and I have learnt how to do a complete rebuild :)

Just fixed it! Runs great now! New piston, new cylinder, new crankshaft and bearings :D just been out riding.

Just ordered parts for 800 US$ :/
I am now going to fix this bike and start riding again.

Can you explain why there are tons of 05' and 06' RMZ 450 with exactly the same problem then? Check thumpertalk forums.

i aint no expert but i say get your valves adjusted and see if that helps

I have started to take the engine apart so thats why I said crank pin bearing and broken cylinder & piston too. Probably the oil pump is gone as well after chewing parts from that crappy OEM crank pin bearing, but haven't checked that out yet.
