Why there's fewer grappling in recent UFCs?

@RyuHanamichi yeah but people wear jackets, shirts and pants. you can still use someone's jacket against them. so wtf are you talking about that it doesnt help in a real ight, if anything BJJ without the gi doesn't help. you're never gonna fight a half naked man on the street unless you're at the beach.

@RyuHanamichi come on over here you traditional martial artist fag. i wont wear a gi and ill use jiu jitsu on you and choke you out just the same. youre pretty dumb. you train in a gi too dont you? do you ever train without it. last time i checked bjj was one of the only martial arts where you practice with and without the martial arts suit or kimono. i have never seen a karate class sparring without gis. moot argument.

In a streetfight nobody wins when he's falling to the ground en having someone in his guard when the opther is punching his face to dead, no offence but BJJ is not that usefull in a barfight/streetfight as you suggest, and NOBODY is wearing a Gi!

@RedOutlive >I think grappling is doing fine, last UFC Jose Aldo used it to win most rounds,
In this respect it (stand-ups) is extremely counter-productive now, - as far as most of MMA-fighters are very well-rounded now (compared to what was earlier). The stand-ups were introduced in MMA to stop grapplers (wrestlers and BJJ-stylists) dominance in the sport. But now most MMA-fighters are very well-rounded, - so there're very few "pure" wrestlers or "pure" BJJ-artists left in the sport anymore!

@RedOutlive > people on top could stall fights without it so you would need a stalling penalty.
Ok, give a stalling penalty and take some points away from the fighter, but do not stand-up the fight.
Also, it would be better if there were no rounds (just like in early UFC back in 1990s).
P.S: What is more popular in Brazil (in terms of people participating) - BJJ or Muay Thai?

@ussrwrestling I think the problem isn't with the rules, but with the judging and the AC officials, standups are a controversial thing and some are quite horrible like Roy Nelson/Arlovski fight, but it's a two way street, people on top could stall fights without it so you would need a stalling penalty. I think grappling is doing fine, last UFC Jose Aldo used it to win most rounds, and most fighters can do well with it despite the gloves and the stand ups, they know how to avoid them.

@RedOutlive >Most champs in the UFC are wrestlers or use it to win fights.
Used to be (about 7-10-15 years ago), but not in recent 3-4 years!
octagon floor is softer than concrete floor is something i havent seen said

@NimW Right! If octagon floor would be tougher - there would be more knockouts of wrestlers'/grapplers slams and throws!

You are an idiot. Wrestlers have no problem putting fights on the ground repeatedly no matter how many times it is stood up. BJJ guys are too weak in the wrestling department and that is why you are seeing less of the grappling you used to see when guys were clueless and could wrestle their way out of the paper bag. Back then BJJ guys could be more successful.

Sometimes there're problems - especially if an opponent has trained a good takedown-defense. Also, if there're too many stand-upd during the fight.
