  • Hey Ben, I've never seen that style of 5 string before. Is the tuning the same?

  • Exactly the same! The 5th string is the same length, but it enters into a tunnel at the 5th fret, then comes back out on the headstock and has a regular tuner.

  • As always, Great Job. Does IDA Red have any scheduled appearances in the Nashville area ?

  • Not in the near future :) When the website is up, it'll have a schedule, though. Thanks! Hope you're doing good!

  • Do you play the clawhammer style of banjo?

  • Absolutely super stuff! Intro is abit off putting but it certainly warms up!

  • My dad has a banjo but it's missing a string plus I have no clue on the basics of playing it. Anywho, I like watching your tutorials just to see you play the song in the beginning xD. You're a beast.

  • you rock man, God bless you :)

  • Good banjo!

  • @kellykahle mandolin, or guitar for the youngest

  • Do you have or plan to load a video of this song played straight thru?? I don't play any instrument at all... just like the song and the banjo.

  • Say Ben, were you inspired to put the string bends in the tune by ways of Jim Mills' version of How Great Thou Art? Sounds a lot like his style. Good job. Also, do you have an email address that I can contact you with? Thanks.

  • You really need to do a Guitar tutorial for this song! :) (An intermediate version would be ideal; not too advanced, but not too simple! :) )
