This new innovation could be a game changer for billboard media users. APN Outdoor has lead the introduction of Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) technology on its billboards for client McKenna Bourbon (part of Lion Nathan stable). In collaboration with Zenithoptimedia, DDB and Lion, APN Outdoor has helped introduce a New Zealand first for billboard media. The LEC technology adds a new dimension to the billboard creative by using thin backlit panels to light-up specific areas of the advertisement. This gives it more cut-through and impact, especially when seen at night.
DDB exclusively managed all production and sourced these EL displays. APN's involvement was the basic site install only. Industry misinformation at best.
