Forster Products Coax Assembly: This short animation shows the workings of the Co-Ax Press as the handle is pulled. The guide block/shellholder moves up and the compound linkage generates a 45:1 mechanical advantage at the top of the stroke.
Clarence Purdie got United States Patent US3345903 in 1965 for the co-ax press.
It was built by Gopher Shooter Supply, then Bonanza, and then Forster, where it now off patent and still in production.
I have fabricated many of the press parts, looking for opportunities to improve the already great design.
In 2011 90% of the press owners I contacted bought improved parts from me, but I do not have the manufacturing tolerances of existing presses, so I could mass produce or guarantee fit.
