@doughesson True I have 'quick clot' packs in my first aid kit, but rarely use it. If it's arterial bleeding then yeah, but for the small stuff? band aids or gauze and cling form work just fine. but in wet conditions like they are in? crazy glue works wonders in keeping nasties out of the wound.

That was nasty. I almost puked ..... Although I am happy the Capt. is able to do that procedure.

@SgtSplatter782 Just a spoonful of regular sugar can also stop bleeding.Learned that from an EMT classmate as an adjunct to "quick clot" clotting agents.

another trick is after the stitching use something like crazy glue or zap-a-gap to seal it up.
