Catharina Klein was one of the most prolific and most reproduced still life painters of all time. Yet few people know her name. The majority of her work appeared on postcards, advertisements, book illustrations, and calendars from 1900-1930. Her prefered medium was gouache, an opaque watercolor. This video, the first in a series, presents a sampling of her work depicting birds.
