Read a letter from Palliser's owner Annie Lieverse to Allan following a show.
Dear Allan,
Thank you for riding Palliser so beautifully last weekend. I find it difficult to describe how by taking only a part of the spectrum of skills taught, placed Palliser a cut above anything else in view, a graceful balanced blend of both the science and the art of riding. Yet, for me it was not just in the ring, but the real evidence of how focused and trained Palliser is, was seen by the in-gate when you carefully maneuvered him among the chaos. In knowing how you feel about showing, you still took the time to professionally demonstrate your skills in a way a horse should (& could) be presented. How else can a change in understanding ever take place?
Your continual focus on what is best for the horse during each moment gave Palliser the inner calm and sureness admired (and envied) by many. I hope in time I also will be able to bring about Palliser's potential and Smokee's capabilities in the manner and understanding you have for our 4 footed pals.
You have infuenced my way of thinking and riding so positively, especially at a time when the road followed wasn't so easy. For me, this is not only a path about learning and gaining appreciation for my animals but also about the influence this has with my teaching and what I value as well.
