I first heard this in a trailer for Lord of the Rings 2.

To point out a common, misconception, after the ousting of the British left much of Colonial America in ruins, past all the romance, and glory, one thing remained, rebuilding the economy. The North invented slavery, the North built slave ships to distant 3rd, and 4th world countries and brought them here. The North used slaves till after the South lost. Slavery be damned!
