  • The tempo will probably catch most Moses Hogan followers off guard but what this director did with these kids and the soul coming from the alto section is truly admirable. Great rendition. Check out Overton high's version. It's the usual tempo but It's Still great for a High School choir. Props to Dr. Grant!!

  • @italiancutiepie61 haha, thanks, but it's MR. Grant.... wish I had a Dr, but don't even have a master's! ;)

  • I am so releived I found this rendition of this song . this choir did a job well done !!

  • Ahh I SOO Remember this from my freshman year uhhh great times

  • Oma jeeebuss.!! :0 -Faints... The best.!

  • Moses Hogan should take great pride in this interpretation. First off, what a great approach! The tempo is slow yet inconsistent, which really brings out the musicality of this piece AND this group. Secondly, what excellent vowels you have! This is exactly how I would have instructed my students to pronounce "Elijah". With a faster pace, I would implement a little more "j" for that soulful feel, but in this tempo, it's perfect. This is simply brilliant. Your students should be honored.

  • i am priviledged beyond belief to have been a part of this. i remember feeling the energy through our hands and just feeling the emotion of this piece and rocking it out! thank you Mr. Grant and Mr. Techau for teaching me so many lessons and for inspiring me to want to do what you did: make a difference through music in many people's lives. love you my SHHS choir family! GO SMOKY!!!!

  • I was about to be like "Hey! SPEED UP!" lol, but all in all, that was a great performance! I'm not gonna lie, the overpronounced K's in Rock were a little irritating, and the holding hands thing is something new to me...

But I give it 5 stars!

  • interesting tempo

    also great acoustics
