how do you cut purflings with fret saw that straight? Isn't it too hard? A guillotine would be much easier.

Beautiful work, very impressive! -What did you use to stain the outer layer black? - Also, is there a special process to get an even penetration of colour, or is it so thin that the dye simply soaks through?

This is the natural color of the wood and does not have any dye on it.
