Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick visited UMass Amherst on October 21, 2009, to lead a community meeting with young adults in the Student Union. The event promoted civic engagement and highlighted the role that people ages 18-35 play in the state economy. He was joined by a panel of young adults. Among the topics was how best to provide funding support for higher education.
FLAT TAX!!!
Governor Patrick, raising taxes in a time of economic downturn discourages people from spending. Cutting taxes ENCOURAGES people and BUSINESSES to come into the commonwealth. By doing this you're basically stimulating the economy without driving yourself further into a hole. Sure, MA loses revenue for a short period, but the added return exponentially increases your income after the economy stabilizes and maybe you return taxes to "normal"... and "normal" shouldn't be 5%, NOT 6.5%!
