  • Oh lord, another temporal displacement theory...I wish you Marty McFly's would shut up. If time travel were possible, then there would be people from the future here now. And if they are here now, their mere existance would interrupt the initial linear time flow causing in itself a paradoxical result, therefore our current present is flawed due to changes in the natural flow of time from these future invaders. So are we now living in a parallel universe altered by these "future people"? NOOoooo

  • @echelon820 well from the things I've read on this machine and if you actually watched the video I made you might not be so dismissive.

    1. It uses a well known law of physics, relativistic time dilation

    2. Only information would be transferable

    3. Time travel would only be possible as far back as when the first machine is turned on. It basically creates a permanent time twist using lasers to bend gravity and create the temporal displacement of a black hole.

  • If we are truly existing in a multiverse the "grandfather paradox" would not be a problem.

  • Concerning Temporal Paradoxes: The current leading theory of time seems to be that it's determined, so you can't change the past any more than you can change the future, but that doesn't stop us from trying if we want.

Personally I'm working on my own theory (Taylor's Theory of Time or T3) which is somewhat determined but a bit more flexible as it accounts for the possibility of random events. Mainly, though, I think mine is stronger cus it explains why we experience the present.
