@nsmaby Growing up in Western Michigan, East Kentwood HS was beast, Mike Knuble played there during his high school days. But I do know that a couple years ago the only 3 states to produce more than 100 players into the NHL were Mass., Minn., and Mich.

@ Nsmaby....
NCAA championships don't mean anything as far as your HIGH SCHOOL hockey is concerned. Minnesota HS hockey is hands down the most competitive, we keep our kids in school rather than sending them off to some distant junior A program or anything like that because our high school programs produce D-1 players and a fair amount of NHL players as well.

What team in MN did you play for?
And what Michigan teams are good cause i don't know much about Michigan hockey, I'm born and raised in Minn. and I've heard good things about Michigan hockey.

I don't understand why people from Michigan think there hockey is so great. come to wisconsin or minnesota and we'll talk.

It's because most Minnesotans and Wisconsinites don't know what they're talking about. I and my son have both played hockey in all three states. Michigan & Minnesota are very closely matched talent wise--both miles ahead of Wisconsin. High schools in Michigan generally do not feature the most elite players. Those kids primarily play Midget AAA. Michigan's D-1 colleges have won more NCAA national championships (19) vs. Wisconsin (6) & Minnesota (5). Do your homework before you blab, dear...
