@Jaysun325 Oh yea I know the M16 is good for that. I originally stated that the three round burts was more accurate than full auto. If the M16 wasnt good it wouldnt be the most used weapon in the military right now.

@razor005 yeah but we are talking about the m16a4 and the m4, which obviously weren't used in WWII...so that's irrelevant. I was just saying that because you said it's not accurate at long ranges, and i think 500 yards is long enough. I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, im just sayin

@Jaysun325 Well back in WWII when the marines were going against the germans on Paris Metz Highway they were getting the germans at 800 yards with Iron sights.

@hidri86 Agreed. I actually get the feeling they they weren't actually in a fire fight in this video, maybe a training evolution or just shootin some rounds off while at an OP or something. I say this just because of their lack of speed and intensity, and they are exposing themselves often, like at the end of the video when they each just slowly stand up, exposing themselves to "enemy fire", and the one guy just slowly walks around the front of the hmmwv.

@razor005 I (and most other Marines) am pretty accurate with it at 500 yards, and that is with iron sights.

@kraizil Well its not supposed to be accurate at long distances. Its an Assault rifle, If you want distance go grab a sniper rifle.

we use M4s while clearing buildings because overall length is shorter and easier to turn inside a building, we use m16 for long ange where it doesnt matter how fast you have to turn around and shoot someone poppin out of a closet

Hey jackass using a 3 round burst is more accurate if you didnt know. You dont have as much recoil to deal with when using a 3 round burst.

I think he was talking about the M4A1 SOPMOD, which is full auto. Many people don't know that regular Marines who use the M4 use only 3 round burst.

the Marines who use M4's are almost all officers or NCOs. Regular Marine infantry will almost always use the M16A4. However, recon Marines will use the M4, possibly even the M4 SOPMOD with full auto. But the officers and NCOs use the 3 round burst M4. The only Marines who use M4A1 SOPMOD are either recon or MarSOC spec ops. But some of the marSOC guys I know have been issued the new FN SCAR recently, although the M4A1 isn't going to be completely phazed out any time soon.

full auto is if you have it is used for shoot and scoot its for cover fire your not gonna hit shit on burst or auto... i have never used auto A bc i never saw it on a rifle i used and i never used burst. waste of amo ... your right and your wont hit shit with it
haji uses full auto on an ak bc they shoot from the hip and cant hit the side of a barn

the army stop using full auto after nam. so i dont know where you got full auto on an m4 there are 3 options on an m4 safety semi and burst.

Both Army and Marines use the M4 with Burst you idiot. The only person who are allowed to use the M4A1 are the one that deal with Unconventional Warfare.

army uses M4A1 with full automatic capability. they are using the rifles on automatic, just using controlled bursts. its blatantly obvious. USMC uses the M4, with 3 round burst. id take auto over 3 round burst any day...any trained soldier or marine can easily fire controlled bursts on automatic

@uwnate1 when you want an insurgent armed with RPG to keep his head down (so he is not able to fire at you) until you have escaped his firing-radius, small bursts are not the badest idea. and by the way: insurgents won't stand up for you and freeze, so you can drop them with "one shot one kill"-hollywoodheroism.

Full auto..that's even worse. Anyway we (USMC) do have burst, but are trained to never use it, maybe in CQ, but even than not likely...it's a waste of ammo to use anything other than single shot. Id rather put one well placed round down range at a time, than a burst of 3 or 4. I aim to kill, not suppress. And I fail to see how that's "blatantly obvious". To each his own.
