You can change the length of fade or turn it off.

Yeah, there are places where fade effects are nice without slowing work, but in this case it's too much.
Hope KDE 4 rocks though. :)

It's an alpha, to be fair. Plus I'll bet there's an option to change the length of the delay or just plain turn it off.

Well, when browsing through about say 200 pictures, the slight delay before every picture shows up would slowly but surely drive me crazy... :) (At least, that's what I say before trying it out...)
Why ?
Cute. Will get annoying when one browses through a lot of images, though...
