@verdiblue Ha ha ha. Educating ourselves? Norway introduced a Super profits tax and are now in an awesome position. Didn't stop the production of resources in Norway. This is not a new invention. And those states who reap the rewards for the mining boom, are still quite happy to take the GST raised from the generally more prosperous states to spend on thier own infrastructure. How un-Australian of you all. All take and no give. Tell me Mr Educated. Which state owned the resources 250 years ago?

duhhhh
im a true blue dyed in the wool aussie and male
true greed is not healthy - but nor is envy
as for the resources - try educating yourselves and study the constitution - resources belong to the individual state in which they are found not the commonwealth
go ahead - tax the companies out of australia and see how far your dollar will go then. idiots

@verdiblue - When we get these mining fat cats down to a level with the rest of us then we can start on the 'Republic'...Australia is no place for elitism, but you wouldn't know that if you live here....................Greed is not good! Greed is all dead..the resources belong to all of us..not just those with a 4 billion dollar fortune.

Gee, thats a worry. For the record, this song is in support of the super profit tax. (I reckon that the proceeds could be better used, but that's another issue.) For the lyrics, Click on the song "Miners." on my myspace site as above. Then there will be a there will be a tiny hyperlink above and to the right the word "Miners" that says "lyrics". Maybe I should just try and post them as a comment.
Between 2012-16, coal companies operating in Australia will earn $97.1 billion. Even with Rudd's RSPT, the bosses will pocket $82.3b while taxpayers will get $14.8b. Rio Tinto, BHP & Xstrata - you poor bastards

@juzyification Well coal is another case all together. If its as poisionous to the earth as the science tells us then it shouldn't be taxed at all- it should be outlawed!

@verdiblue Oh, that would be from the labour of workers. The same thing that made the super profits.
You seem to be still living in the cold war, weird christian lady.

Piss off you dog. How dare you fly the Eureaka flag in defense of a hand full of parasite mining industry tycoons who fuck miners every little bit as hard as cercumstances allow. Its a "Capital" strike arsehole. Not a people's strike, not a popular strike, not a good strike in the national interest or the interests of Australian workers. How fucking stupid do you think Australians are? Shove your lying, fearmonger pap where the sun don't shine. You spineless, maggot scab Liberal party whore.
