@ihbase I farm in the same area, and i remember this year very well. Farm average over 6000 acres was 48 bu. soybeans and 186 bu. corn. The soil is still producing after a lot of work. Everybody did what they had to to get the crop out, pay to put next years in and make a living. A little coverage with a ripper or chisel plow and it turned out fine. Was it the right thing to do? I can't answer that, you must be an expert, im just someone who gets the work done.
