Dark Side is at 2:44... one of the best albums ever for sure. A big break for Pink Floyd, if you listen to their work before The Dark Side like Ummagumma and Atom Heart Mother... not as ... commercial

cool collection? was dark side in there or did i just miss it. i don't mind buying a disk here and there still, but sometimes, i HAVE to download cause i can't get it any other way.
thanks for the cool vid post!
I have no problem with your opinion, and I agree that artists should be supported. However, you have an industry where they take a large majority of the profit of record sales. This is just pure fact; see Radiohead's release strategy for In Rainbows.
Piracy is a necessary thing until the music business realizes what it's truly about: the artists and the fans. MOST artists tend to agree and see the potential. Hell, even if people pirate albums, they can't pirate going to live gigs.

@horohorosrin :: the music industry is changing, that's for sure.. the old model of sales is obviously fading, it's already hard to find many artists CD's in stores, usually have to buy online. And sure, the really big labels/artists pay huge amounts to the label and it's Exec's. But we still need to support the artists you love by buying their music. Like Radiohead... pay what you can or like, or buy MP3 or iTunes online, or buy direct from artist website or buy streaming music like Rhapsody...

I feel for you, yes, but you can still buy (support the artists) what you like. With streaming media, radio, some band web sites etc you can sample various artists before you buy... and then buy MP3 per song (I've been using Amazon instead of iTUnes). And/or buy the CD and have it mailed... even here in Phoenix a music store rarely has what I'm looking for (unless it's very mainstream... anyway, just my thoughts, my point is "i love music" and we should support the artists, thanks for looking :)

If you own the record do you think that it is alright to download it?

I own all these albums. I used to make copies or single song copy to cassette tape when that was the medium of choice. Actually, before cassettes, I made some copies to reel-to-tape! And then to 4-track and then to 8-track and then to cassette and now to MP3 or AAC. ALL of this I own the original and do give away or sell for profit. When the next format comes along (you think this is the end?!) I'll transfer it again to a "light cube" or whatever the format of choice is in 2020. Search copyright
