As a result of this the only way my mother and sister could continue working was for me to take over babysitting for the family and give up on trying to become employed myself. I'm the only one who is married/in a relationship with someone who can(albeit by the skin of our teeth and with the help of both of our families) support our children and I. My compensation was money for gas that didn't even cover the gas we used every month to transport the kids daily, even with gas discount cards.

My home town actually used to have a childcare program to help support working parents but they took it out when they got rid of the school buses here, because we all know that the most effective way to reduce the budget and stimulate the economy is to force parents out of the work force.
